Free with a .edu email
No credit card. No trial. If you have a university email, you have access.
Full founder interviews
The complete conversations, not the highlight reels. Real career stories, technical depth, and the parts that get cut from short clips.
A path to the people, not just the content
Members get a direct line for thoughtful questions, intro requests, and a chance to share what they are building.
Private to verified students
One-time email verification. Your inbox stays yours. Nothing is shared, sold, or shown to anyone else who signs up.
How it works
- Enter your .edu email on the signup page along with your name and school.
- Click the sign-in link we email you to confirm. Takes about 30 seconds.
- Watch the library. You stay signed in for 90 days at a time, no password to remember.
Who this is for
- Undergrads exploring AI who want to hear how people actually got into the industry, not the polished LinkedIn version.
- Graduate students and researchers looking for honest takes on building AI products, raising money, and turning research into a company.
- Career-switchers in school who want pattern-matching from founders who once had your exact question.
- Anyone considering joining an AI startup and wondering what it is actually like inside one.
Not for you if: you are looking for academic lectures, certifications, or a syllabus. This is a library of unscripted founder conversations, not a course.
How this is different
There are a lot of ways to learn from founders. Here is what is distinct about this one.
Full conversations, not 60-second clips
Every interview runs the full length. The advice that matters usually comes 25 minutes in, after the elevator-pitch answer is out of the way.
Free, not gated by a paywall or course fee
No bootcamp pricing, no premium tier, no "first month free." A .edu address is the price of admission while you are a student.
Founders who actually shipped, not pundits
Every guest is operating in AI right now. The library is built from the Decoding AI Builders show, where Angelina talks to people who are building, not theorizing.
A relationship, not just a watch list
Members can ask questions, share what they are working on, and request intros when relevant. You are joining a small community, not just consuming videos.
Frequently asked questions
What is Founders for Students?
Founders for Students is a free, private library of full-length founder interviews from the Decoding AI Builders podcast, available exclusively to verified university students. Sign up with a .edu email, click the sign-in link we send you, and you have access. The interviews are with people building AI products, raising money, and turning research into companies.
How do you verify I am a student?
We send a one-time sign-in link to the .edu email address you provide. Clicking that link confirms two things: that the email is real, and that you control it. Since .edu addresses are restricted to accredited institutions, that is enough to confirm you are a student.
Do I need to pay anything?
No. The library is free for verified students. No credit card, no trial, no upsell. There is an optional newsletter you can opt into at signup, also free.
What happens to my email address?
It is stored in a secure database and used only to send you the sign-in link and (if you opt in) the newsletter. It is never sold, shared, or shown to other students. You can request deletion at any time by replying to any email from us.
What schools can sign up?
Any institution with a .edu email address can sign up. That covers most US colleges and universities. We are starting with the US and may extend to international academic domains over time.
What happens after I graduate?
You keep your access for the duration of your current sign-in session. After that, the same library lives on the YouTube member channel for graduates and the general public, so you can keep watching the same content with a small monthly membership.
Can I share the link or videos with friends?
Forwarding a friend with a .edu address to the signup page is exactly what we want. The point is to build a community of curious students. The videos themselves are linked unlisted on YouTube, but the library, the access to Angelina, and the community are what makes the membership valuable.
Who is Angelina?
Angelina Yang is the host of Decoding AI Builders and a fast.ai fellow. She built Founders for Students because she wanted students to have free access to the conversations she has with founders, and a way for those students to introduce themselves to her. Read more on the about page.
